Hagar USA
Provide counseling services to 12 boys for an entire year.
Cost: $5,000
Who are they?
Hagar is an international organization committed to the recovery, empowerment, and reintegration of women and children who have suffered human rights abuses. In particular, Hagar serves women, young girls and boys who are victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation.
What are they doing?
Hagar's Recovery Center in Cambodia is working to change the lives of those enslaved by sex trafficking, in providing shelter, counseling and an environment of safety. Often times, young boys are forgotten about in the conversation of sexual abuse. Hagar launched their first ever program for boy victims, in efforts to change this neglect. Starting in 2010, they served 20 boys; this year the program will reach to 32 young boys. Hagar is committed to raising the standard of care to equal excellence of that available to girl victims.
How C+R is going to help:
We are going to help these sex trafficked boys in Cambodia get the rehabilitation they need. Our objective is to raise the funding necessary for them to receive Hagar's care. The process begins with attending to their medical needs and assessing their levels of trauma. Ongoing services include counseling, education, and legal support. The goal is to help each boy heal and return to community life with their family of origin or a foster care family.
Our Goal: Provide counseling services to 12 boys for an entire year. The cost of this project will be $5000.
Join Hagar in doing whatever it takes for as long as it takes to restore these broken lives. Help Hagar by being the response.
